Definitions
In these Rules, "Drawing" means any LSU opportunity drawing. "Entrant" or "you" means anyone who enters. "Winner" means an Entrant selected to receive a prize. "Campaign Rules" means the official rules for a specific Drawing, including how to enter, dates, prizes, and prize values. FAQs and promotional materials are not official rules. If they conflict, these Rules and the Campaign Rules control.
Eligibility
Open to currently enrolled CSUDH students who are 18 or older, regardless of citizenship or immigration status. You must be enrolled when you enter, at the time of the Drawing, and when you pick up your prize. If not, the prize may go to an alternate Winner. Not eligible: LSU employees (professional staff and student assistants), LSU Board members, employees of LSU’s affiliates, agencies, and suppliers, and their immediate family and household members. Limit one entry per person per Drawing (unless the Campaign Rules say otherwise), one win per Drawing, and two wins per academic year (Fall semester through the following Summer term). Void where prohibited by law.
How to Enter
Enter by (a) the online entry form or (b) a direct message (DM) to LSU’s official Instagram account with your full name and CSUDH email address. Sponsor may also ask for a phone number, used only to contact you about the Drawing. Both methods have an equal chance of winning, and the one-entry limit covers both. Posting or tagging LSU alone is not an entry. If you submit a photo or video, you confirm that you own it and have permission from everyone in it.
Rules
By entering, you agree to these Rules and the Campaign Rules, confirm that you are eligible, and accept LSU’s decisions as final.
Drawing Dates
Entry and drawing dates are listed in the Campaign Rules.
Winners & Prizes
Winners are chosen at random from all eligible entries. Entries are not judged, and Winners need not be present to win. Winners are notified by email and/or Instagram and must reply within 72 hours. Winners must complete the Prize Redemption Form within 14 days (it collects your CSUDH student ID number, used only to confirm eligibility) and show a valid CSUDH ID at pick-up. If a Winner can’t be reached, is ineligible, or misses a deadline, the prize may go to an alternate Winner. LSU is not responsible for notices lost to spam filters or incorrect contact information. Winners are posted on Instagram and/or www.lsucsudh.org within three weeks after the Drawing ends. Prizes, prize options, approximate retail values (ARV), and any guest terms, expiration dates, or blackout dates are listed in the Campaign Rules. No cash substitutions. If a prize becomes unavailable, LSU may substitute one of equal or greater value. Winners are responsible for any taxes. LSU reports prizes to the IRS as required by law (currently when a Winner’s prizes total $2,000 or more in a calendar year) and may ask for a Form W-9 before releasing a prize.
Winning Odds
Odds depend on the number of eligible entries.
Terms & Conditions
LSU may change, cancel, or suspend a Drawing if fraud, technical problems, or other issues outside its control affect it, and may then select a Winner from eligible entries. Any prize change will be of equal or greater value. LSU may disqualify anyone who tampers with the entry process or breaks these Rules, and may seek damages as allowed by law.
Release
By entering, you allow LSU to use your name, likeness, photo, video, and city/state on LSU’s social media and website to promote the Drawing, without payment, whether or not you win.
Limitation of Liability
By entering, you release LSU and its affiliates, partners, agents, employees, officers, and directors from any claims, including injury or loss, whether or not caused by negligence, related to your participation, any prize, technical failures, unauthorized interference, or errors in running the Drawing or processing entries.
This Drawing is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, Instagram. By entering, you release Instagram from all liability related to the Drawing.
Disputes
These Rules are governed by U.S. and California law. Any dispute must be resolved individually (no class actions) in a California court. You may recover only your actual out-of-pocket costs of entering, not punitive, incidental, or consequential damages or attorney’s fees.
